In summer 2010, the staff report of the Human Rights Council of the United Nations, as part of the first ever, 2010 UPR (Universal Periodic Review) of Human Rights in the United States, noticed and referenced the Human Rights Alert April 2010 submission, pertaining to "corruption of the courts, the legal profession, and discrimination by law enforcement in California".

U.S. Navy Vet Sues Donald Rumsfeld for Torture in Iraq, Court Allows Case to Move Forward

On Monday, a federal appeals court refused to dismiss a lawsuit filed by two U.S. citizens against former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and unnamed others for developing, authorizing and using harsh interrogation techniques against detainees in Iraq. Donald Vance and Nathan Ertel were working for a private U.S. government contractor, Shield Group Security, in 2006 when they witnessed the sale of U.S. government weapons to Iraqi rebel groups for money and alcohol. After they became FBI informants and collaborated with an investigation into their employer, the company revoked their credentials for entering Iraq’s so-called Green Zone, effectively barring them from the safest part of the country. Shortly afterward, they were arrested and detained by U.S. troops, moved to the U.S.-run prison at Camp Cropper, and subjected to extreme sleep deprivation, interrogated for hours at a time, kept in a very cold cell, and denied food and water for long periods. They were eventually released and never charged with a crime. For more on his story, we speak with Donald Vance, a U.S. Navy veteran, and with Andrea Prasow, the senior counsel in the Terrorism and Counterterrorism Program at Human Rights Watch.   3. @HumanRightsAlert By the UN...right. All of the posts I've seen are charging that complaints are being made against the court systems, but those complaints are being denied...even by those who are supposedly not involved.

    The US court system is not an international body, and since it is not, why would we even care what the UN thinks. When I see the Legislative Branch address the issue against the Judicial Branch then I will take notice. In our system of checks and balances, the Legislative Branch is charged with checking the Legislative Branch...not the UN, and certainly not the international community. Less..

    1) Our system of checks and balances? It is simply not working... that is what is described in these postings. But you have probably failed to read them in the first place.
    That is what is called "constitutional crisis"...
    Check the cover of the July 4th Time magazine cover...

    2) The international community is our debt holder, and we are in Chapter 11... Sooner or later, we have to start listening...

    3) As for "Legislative Branch address the issue against the Judicial Branch then I will take notice."?
    Already in 2008 Senator Dianne Feinstein and Congresswoman Diane Watson filed at my request Congressional Inquiries on FBI Director and US Attorney General:
    Why they would not protect the 10 million people of Los Angeles County against racketeering by judges...

RICHARD FINE was arrested on March 4, 2009 and is held since then in solitary confinement in Twin Tower Jail in Los Angeles, California, with no records, conforming with the fundamentals of the law, as the basis for his arrest and jailing.

Richard Fine - 70 year old, former US prosecutor, had shown that judges in Los Angeles County had taken "not permitted" payments (called by media "bribes"). On February 20, 2009, the Governor of California signed "retroactive immunities" (pardons) for all judges in Los Angeles. Less than two weeks later, on March 4, 2009 Richard Fine was arrested in open court, with no warrant. He is held ever since in solitary confinement in Los Angeles, California. No judgment, conviction, or sentencing was ever entered in his case.
